Are we teaching our kids to become "Fake" Christians?

A recent study of 3,300 American teenagers who consider themselves Christians revealed that a majority of them actually were indifferent and inarticulate about their faith. It found 4 key differences that set apart committed Christians:

1) A personal story of God
2) A deep connection to a faith community
3) A sense of purpose
4) A sense of hope about the future.

What can parents, churches, & Christian schools do to ensure these four traits are present?

1) Don't preach a safe gospel!
2) Get radical -- parents who perform one act of faith in front of their children convey more than dozens of sermons and mission trips.
3) Explain that radicalness is how Christians must live -- Teens don't register that faith is supposed to make you live differently unless parents & teachers help their kids connect their dots.
