Do you like to read?

Reading is one of the essential components of a quality education and is a distinctive mark of a learner leader.

This year, we are privledged to intoduce the Triple Crown Reading Award Book series.  Originally developed by several Christian school librarians in Texas, this program has expanded across the country.

The Children's Gallery Award, the Children's Crown Award, and the Lamplighter Award are
nominee lists of forty new titles each year. They encourage primary, intermediate, and middle school
students to read and vote on wholesome and uplifting mainstream books that have been published within the last two years.

We have obtained many of the books on the lists from the past 5 years as part of a recent library acquistion and will be obtaining the titles on this years nominee lists as well.  Families who wish to purchase books for the school library will have an opportunity to sponser one of these books from the list at this years orientation.

Students are encouraged to participate in this program by reading and reviewing a minimum number of books in their age appropriate level.  Towards the end of the program, we will host a book review party and participate in the national voting process for the best new book, which will then receive a national award.
