Welcome Back!
I am looking forward to meeting all of you in the next few days! We are excited about all of the great new ideas and projects our teachers and parents are working on. If you would like to be involved on any parent committee, please let me know!
BIBLICAL INTEGRATION
Can you believe it? I assigned our teachers homework over the summer – reading on how to even more integrate the message of Jesus Christ throughout all our curriculum, not just in Bible class or chapel. One of the marks of a missional Christian school is exemplified by our motto -- All Truth is God’s Truth. I expect that our students will hear the story of Christ and his redemptive work to be integrated throughout all classes all the time – that’s how we develop today’s Christian student into tomorrow’s Christian leader!
RIGOUROUS ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
Bethel Life is proud to present a rigorous course schedule complete with robust offerings in foreign languages, fine arts, sports, and technology. Additional course offerings are now available to students for PE, Art, French, Spanish, and Technology. Our club offerings will include Journalism, Chess, and Robotics, and FCA.
CONVENIENT LATCHKEY ENVIRONMENT
For those that are requiring latchkey programs, our latchkey hours have expanded. We know open at 6:30 AM to meet the needs of all those who work hospital shifts. We do close promptly at 6 PM. Our Latchkey room has moved, as well as the primary drop off point. It will now be at the SW corner room, much more convenient for you to drop off and pick up. This also allows us to better secure the building, creating a safer environment. A copy of the new drop off traffic flow plan is enclosed.
ATHLETIC PROGRAMS
Our sports programs will be well-directed again by Kelli Miller, our Athletic Director. Coach James Holt returns to Bethel after a ten year absence and will be assisted by Coach Jerod Yancey for boys soccer. Volleyball will also be led by returning coach Misty Jeffress. All 5th – 8th graders are invited to participate! Our new Cheerleading coach will be Lindsay Yancey.
EARLY OUT ON WEDNESDAYS
The biggest scheduling change this year will be the early dismissal of all students from regular educational classes at 2:46 on Wednesdays. Students have the option of being picked up early, joining the Robotics Club, or staying in an expanded latchkey program at no charge until 3:45. This change will allow us as teachers to have a regularly scheduled time for prayer and meetings.
