Parent Letter - September 3rd
Dear Parents, Teachers & Friends!
The school year has gotten well underway already! I have been very excited to see excellent chapels, well behaved students, and an exciting sports program getting back into the groove. A BIG thank you to all those that supported our Back to School Bash as we helped Enterprise School and invited Firehouse Kidz to speak.
During the month of September, we are launching our character traitor of RESPECT – showing others how important they are by what you say and do. We will be integrating this theme throughout all of our chapels and curriculums. We continue our chapel series this Wednesday with former BLS student now a missionary. We will be devoting our chapel offerings to him for this month.
If you have an older student, the FCA huddle of BLS wants to remind you of the area rally here at Bethel Life on Wednesday, September 8 at 7 PM, right before the big rally at the Koch Arena on the 9th.
Several initial items of our five year strategic plan have been implemented over the past two weeks. The first smart boards were installed in several classrooms. A grant for playground improvement has been submitted. Soccer goals and robotic equipment have been donated. New curriculum that will allow us to differentiate instruction, challenge students, and be relevant to the 21st century has been put in place, all while maintaining Biblical integration. The first major reunion for former students is scheduled October 9th. Many more exciting things are in the works. If you want to stay up to date on a daily basis, please also subscribe to my daily blog at www.blskings.com.
I recognize that it is a privilege to partner with you to raise our children in a Christian worldview. I encourage you to make this a better school for all students by volunteering whenever you can. We are always grateful! Remember, my door is open to speak with anyone at your convenience. If you want a prompt response, please feel free to email me at mjmiller@blswichita.com
With Respect!
