Dear BLS family:
The funeral for Oscar Hildalgo will be held at Believers Tabernacle, 2000 S. Hillside in Wichita at 10 AM, tomorrow, Thursday, January 13th. The viewing will begin at 9 AM.
Families who are planning to attend do not need to report to school tomorrow and may go directly to the service.
Any remaining 7th & 8th grade students who need transportation to attend, will be carpooled with teachers. Only students not going with their families are required to have a permission slip.
Other grade students are welcome to attend with their families, but we will only offer carpooling for 7th and 8th grade.
At the conclusion of the service, all BLS family are invited to meet at the Applebees at 47th and Broadway for a time of fellowship.
This is a not a normal field trip, but a time to honor Oscar and celebrate his life. The teachers will also be attending as friends and mourners, and have expressed a desire to ensure that all students that wanted to pay their respects have opportunity to attend.
Substitute teachers have been arranged for the 5th & 6th grades, as well as a number of the lower elementary classes in order that as many who desired to attend can do so. Any 7th or 8th grader who is unable to attend may do independent work in the 6th grade classroom.
