Thank you!

Dear parents, teachers, and friends:
One of the distinguishing marks of Bethel Life School is that our teachers serve as role models, replicating the image of Christ into generations of new students.  This past week, we showed our appreciation to the teachers, honoring our many dedicated servants.
Today we announce that Mrs. Glenna Bishop, a 19 year veteran teacher, will be retiring at the end of this school year from Bethel Life School…yet, she is not retiring from Christian education.  God has called her into a new season of ministry as a 1st grade missionary teacher at Christian Academy of Baguio, the Philippines.  Mrs. Bishop has taught in other countries before and has participated in countless mission trips.  Our loss is their gain.

It is our intention to stay in contact with Mrs. Bishop.  We will continue to support her as our missionary, doing God’s work in other lands.  We are already working on having a sister-school relationship, hoping that our students and their students can engage in age appropriate reciprocal activities.

For nearly two decades, Mrs. Bishop has been a faithful servant.  It is only appropriate that we give her the honor which is due.  During these last few days of school, please give her words of thanksgiving.  In our final chapel on Wednesday, May 11th, we will dedicate a portion of the service to commissioning her.

In addition, we have decided to permanently commemorate Mrs. Bishop's devotion to the school by awarding her the inaugural Glenna Bishop Award for Excellence in Christian Education and Mission.  From this day forward, this award will be given to a person who most exemplifies Mrs. Bishop’s passion for Kingdom work and who has made an indelible mark in the shaping of the future of Christian education.

Mrs. Bishop – on behalf of hundreds of students, past and future – Thank you!
