Welcome our Woodwind Artist in Residence

BLS welcomes Alyssa McNutt as our Woodwind Artist in Residence for the 2011-12 school year. She will be offering lessons for flute, clarinet, saxophone, and oboe on campus as 30 minute pull out lessons during the school day.

She holds a teaching license in instrumental music from the Oklahoma State Department of Education and has taught band in Oklahoma and Wyoming. In 2010, she taught undergraduate flute technique for the University of Oklahoma. Though primarily a flutist, she also teaches and performs regularly on clarinet, saxophone, oboe, and recorder.

Alyssa received her Masters in Flute Performance from the University of Oklahoma and her Bachelors in Flute Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma. She is a member of the National Flute Society and the Oklahoma Flute Society.

Alyssa loves to perform and regularly presents solo recitals. She has performed with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, the Crimson Winds Woodwind Quintet, the University of Oklahoma Orchestra, Jackson Hole Jazz Foundation, Pollard Theater, Galveston Island Theater, among many others. She has been featured as a soloist with the Society of Composers National Convention and has given two performances in Carnegie Hall in New York with the University of Central Oklahoma.
